Cara was born in Chicago to Richard and Carole Parker. She grew up in Hanover Park along with one brother and four sisters.

After graduating from Elgin High School she worked for the US Postal Service for 22 years.

At the age of 43, Cara courageously mortgaged her house to support her 2 sons and put herself through nursing school. She is now an O. R. Nurse at Sherman Hospital specializing in eye surgery and pain processing.

Five years ago, she married Ken Kusch they share 4 of Ken’s grandchildren and Odin, Cara’s first grandson. He is the apple of Cara’s eye and he has won over everyone at second service since she started bringing him. She hopes he will continue his religious education at Grace.

When they are able to find the time, they enjoy camping and boating and playing with their granddog, Babbs.

Cara is very busy at Grace, volunteering as facilitator of the Health Fair on June 16th and with Ken Roucka, she organized the Easter Breakfast in 2017 and 2018. This year she joined the Nominating Team and is helping with Vacation Bible School. And even though she hates gardening, she volunteered to be the Grace garden coordinator.

We are so happy you chose Grace to be your church.
